Brent Thomson and R Skelton?

Yes, half a point there for BP Thomson (who rode Dandy Andy to beat Bonecrusher & Vo Rogue in the Australian Cup) and another half point for anyone who can tell me which horse the Wanganui wonder rode.

No Skeltons were troubled in the running of the Taranaki Cup that year

J Walker

No NG but if it were me I would have gone for a couple of them.

NG, I will give you a point for Brent Thomson and I will open it up to anyone to just name the jockeys not necessarily matched to a particular horse

Alwyn Tweedie

Tweeds 🙂  what a lovely man.  He stayed with us at the racecourse at Trentham when he came down to ride.

Love this quote 🙂

Later they had to deal with veteran rider Alwyn Tweedie flourishing his whip a stride before the winning post when successful on Kaimata Bronco.

It was Tweedie's 100th winner at Ellerslie and the 50-something rider came up with the best quote of the carnival in the judicial room.

Asked to comment on his against-the-rules whip flourish Tweedie said: "Well, I guess I can't blame youthful exuberance, so I plead guilty."

Also PJ, did The Babe ride Marie Kay?
