Dancing Show
Even if not him 🙂 I remember his wins in the Wellington Hurdles - what a winter wonder he was. Tramping back both days enjoying a hot cup of tea and a fly cemetery off the back of the truck.. I bet anyone who used to go to the races in the CD in the 70's and 80's will remember the fly cemeteries... two thin slices of pastry top and bottom with about an inch of sultanas and raisins packed inbetween 🙂 1

High Chief was out of a daughter of Copenhagen II (a noted sprint sire). His granddam was by NZ St. Leger Spiral.

PWJ
Okay, today's trivia might prove a little harder. The photo is of PJ's only mare (right now). She gets served tomorrow night by Pierata who got his first SW - Coleman - yesterday at Caulfield. Her 7th dam was an outstanding NZ racehorse who was the top stakes earner in NZ during her 4yo career. She won 11 races including an Awapuni Gold Cup but that wasn't her biggest win. Her younger half-brother won 28 races including 6 Gr1 equivalents and was 2nd in both the VRC & AJC Derbies. The 7th dam of my mare had a stakes race - run in Auckland - named after her. Who was she ?
