Ok cool. What about this factual one. Maybe the wording needs to be changed to, as much as possible?

People talk rubbish all the time. Nothing going to stop that. Hard to police - No?

And still this confidential one, think they need to be more specific or change wording a bit. What if you heard something verbally at the pub or with family or friends or after a race. And then you come on RC & tell peeps.

Don't worry too much Karrots , team or stable driving is fine. Telfers, Allstars, Dunns can all get multiple runners in a race because they're pretty good stables.

They have been 'Looking After' each other for years.

Stewards will take a dim view if a horse is given 'No chance to Win' by the way it is driven ,if it is just to aid a stablemate.

example was Ferguson at Auckland when MeetmeinSorrento won.

BUT generally you OBviously are not gunna knock a stablemate over ,and can let it go to the lead easily or whatever. No Law Against That.?

As long as you give your own drive EVERY POSSIBLE CHANCE TO WIN , which Allstars have been doing quite beautifully for years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe it's the Dunn's turn NZ CUP ?????

All we have got to do is follow our good values, and before disclosing anything on here, ensure we can cover our story securely, and creditably. it is the very least we owe to Hesi, and Pete.

Totally agree LB.

It is human nature to look after each other, especially from the same family/stable, whether that be in life in general, or a race.

It has always been part of racing, and Karrots, I am having a wee chuckle, in a nice way, when Lewey goes to the races, and if your stable has more than one in the race, and the stablemate comes around, and you get a great trail, you zoom up the passing, and Karrots starts running to the winners circle, thank you very much!!!

Thanks for the feedback & your wise words. That isn't how I read it tho. The below reads to me that you are not allowed to talk about something you may have heard.

I reckon the nights that Sweetie Lewey runs, they will not need the lights on, as you will be shining brighter than a spotlight on the winner at the Academy Awards.

Checked and it doesn't say anything about this is a confidential item. Therefore will post. Mind you it hasn't kicked in yet. Iv bolded the 2 points I brought up earlier.

Thanks for the update Karrots. Is she at the stage of having a wee break now, or pushing onto the workouts or trials?

Cant remember name, but a Vincent too. There was 1 other yearling at Addington workouts but again a boy by Lou called Choco Lou.

They must be nice types. 2 boys & 1 girl. Others they rolling out are by Bettors & Art Major, no sign of their Lou yearling they have. I am so thankful that I decided to get a trotter this year, and not have to see Sweetie whizzing past with the hand brake on!!!

At least not whizzing past to try to dart off the track anymore 😂

Of note according to Karrots calculations, there will be less Bettors around & more Lous compared to past years. Based on breeding numbers & live foals for Sweeties age.

Vincent 148 served 110 live foals, he has a few more than Bettors 2019.

Bettors 143 served 105 live foals.

Lou 229 served 167 live foals.

Downbytheseasside 89 served 72 live foals.

Looking at results & ALL 3 yearling heats including trot heat must of been canceled as no result. All were from All Stars barn. But looks like they went as Akuta result is up. Interesting anyway there is another yearling heat tomorrow. 3 boys participates - 2 Lous & 1 Downbyseaside. No Bettors. Thats all for the yearlings update 😀

On Boxseat a Telfer interview, they have 32 yearlings. Of that 32 they staggered them, so 12 in work. 8 of those will be go to workouts this weekend at Puke. Recall seeing them buying up large at sales both weanling & yearling & had voiced, they will be ones to watch for based on numbers next year & year after. So it begins.

Yearling race at Ashburton did go ahead, results up now, but under workouts not trials. Seems from times Herily’s Vincent colt (Seve) is most forward at this early stage.

Took a look randomly at Bettors boys yearlings & approx 35 that are named & registered. This compared to approx 67 year prior.

Thought would give 1 last update this year on Sweety Leweys Road to Races.

Am booked into watch her train this weekend. Super excited. Have only seen her train once & that was approx 6 months ago. Starting to think she won't race as an early 2 y-o, which is fine, not sure if this is true or a myth, but heard sometimes it can undo a horse to race too soon.

Anyway a couple of weeks ago, after some faster pace work report was she a bit tired, so was given a few days off. Upon day back to train return she was "a bit fresh". And then most recently she has been playing around in paddock or something, doing things she hasn't done before, so must be feeling good. Feedback has been "ok", not good, not bad. Just "ok" lol. But another bit of info which is nice to hear is that multiple peeps that have seen her, e.g. she had her teeth done & person commented on how nice looking she is. And just the other day another person did too apparently. Maybe she might make a good 'show pony in life after racing based on her nice looks tehe.

Yeah lol. Much prefer this honesty tho. Oppose any rubbish talk. Haven't been told needs time tho yet ... More like as she is still a yearling be 'easy as she goes'.

Just be happy to get her to races next year & get a win whether it be a Mana win, a Cambridge win or an Auckland win 😄

Hi Karrots,

I am picking she is only a yearling. If correct, it is a matter of, after broken in, is bringing them in for short preparations, and turning them out, and not putting too much pressure on them. The horse will take the necessary steps towards racing, or not, as the case maybe. Time and patience will always be a horses friend, and gives them time to grow, and develop, and give the horse the best chance to fulfill its potential.
