Mid-Winter Super Draft Comp Results Thread

The Roughnecks, Crazy Horse and MX5 can't win - bit of anti-climax but still team profits and superior aggregates to chase.

Aegon, Keiai Nautique, Imaging and Fifty Stars can pull Lowdown back to 4-1 and Colette can pull them back t0 3-2

eerily close, Maxi. 🙂
spent the morning at Auckland Hospital with a busted knee .... now getting by with crutches and ibuprofen.
still, the lads made up for it ..... Piko finishing this comp strongly, with only our bye game to come.
we might hold on to win this thing ...we might not.
either way ..it's been a blast !
considering we Piko were cellar-dwellers not too many rounds back....we've done good ...finishing with style.
I'd never miss a PJ Comp.
The highlight of any weekend.
Thanks for the game, Maxi, and good luck to your mx5 in the final round. Me mate Craig's played great again...too good for me today.
Many thanks, PJ. Great comp, Again.

Hearty congratulations Pete on an inspired and brilliant 10-point Joker play today !
Puts your team right back in the frame.
You'll need to back that up with an equally dazzling peformance the final round.
But I wouldn't bet you against your Lowdowns doing just that.
Good luck ! 😀
Then it's Mighty Blues .....here we come !

Scr: 13

$447.20

0 points

4 PIKO (2nd)

$1237.40

3 points

Piko had it won before the last where Tom bagged a BB secure Man of the Match honours as MX5 drew another blank - their 5th of the day. Piko took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin while Craig edged Rex just for MX5 MVP honours.

0.00 Graeme

291.00 Geoff

70.00 Rob

186.40 Richie

57.00 Max

337.40 Tom

5 LOWDOWN* (6th)

$1434.40

5 (x 2 Joker play) = 10 points

Bye - HOT TODDYS (7th)

$894.40

1 point

Lowdown's cheeky Joker play came to full fruition as they downed the table leaders 5-zip and added a team profit to secure the maximum 10 points on offer. Well done Lowdown ! Only Gordy found the final winner as Lowdown drew a blank. Dino was MVP for The Roughnecks and unlucky to draw Man of the Match Steve in the match-ups. The Hot Toddys all missed again in the last but had done enough to beat The Roughnecks aggregate and secure a point with Punter Pete edging Pam as MVP.

91.00 Gordy

151.00 Robert

256.40 Jen

353.40 Maurice

2 CRAZY HORSE (4th)

$942.20

3 USAIN COLT (5th)

$947.80

2 points

Usain Colt had it won before the last but had their margin reduced to the minimum as Blind Squirrel found the Shamus Award winner to reel in Ray however Stevie snagged the quinella to deny Crazy Horse a point for a higher aggregate -damn that man ! Rees was a commanding Man of the Match with an excellent score again while Ian, pressured unsuccessfully all day by the scorer was Usain Colt MVP - too good mate. No bonus points were earned.

147.40 Blind Squirrel

136.00 Ray

272.20 PJ

291.00 Ian

81.00 Jason

1st 30 Piko* $15,155.40 (33)

2nd 28 Roughnecks $14,401.40 (38)

3rd 26 Lowdown* $12,300.80 (31)

4th 25 MX5 $14,503.40 (35)

5th 23 Usain Colt $15,613.40 (33)

-----------------all above this line can still win the comp-------------------

6th 23 Crazy Horse* $14,504.40

7th 15 Hot Toddys $11,731.40

Piko's convincing win today sees them shoot to the top of the standings with a two point buffer over previous leaders - The Roughnecks - who were defeated today by a wildly successful Joker play by Lowdown rocketing them up 3 places from 6th to 3rd. MX5 slipped from 3rd to 4th in defeat while Usain Colt's win allowed them to maintain 5th position. Crazy Horse lost two places in defeat while The Hot Toddys remain in the cellar but console themselves with a point from their Bye round. Four Jokers to be played in the Final Round next week where the top 5 teams all stand a chance of winning the Winter Championship.

AAArgghh. That was a close match and to miss a higher aggregate point to put us in 5th and in with a chance at the end by 5 bucks hurts. :classic_sad: Well done Usain Colt , now we only have pride to play for but can be a spoiler to MX5.  Thanks PJ for another enjoyable day and the plunge got close but just came up short.

I have to confess i am rather surprised I am leading the scoring and another one today. I changed my tactics but never thought they would just keep rolling in. Pity the bloody Trots wouldn't do the same, might tempt me to defect.     Just kidding  Mardy, Rusty, Happy ,Robert, Craig.🤣
