To win:

Five-Oh need-

Firstly TC's point of difference Ozark to finish ahead of The Squirrel's Spurcraft

then....

a Royal Witness-Sharpe Hussler quinella in that order for Moose and hope it pays enough

OR

an Ozark-Sharpe Hussler quinella in that order for TC and hope it pays enough

OR

an Ozark-Spurcraft quinella in that order for Punter Pete and hope it pays enough (not likely)

Well the good news .... both semis live into the last.

Can feel the nervous tension.

'Maximillions' and 'The James Gang' in the box seats.

Can't see Ashoka finishing on '0' ...and historically is a BB 'maestro'..... so the Maxis might be getting a little nervous ! 😃
Fiery Heights has come in from $23 to $13 ... so the support is there.  Just saying.
Maybe Maxi better dip into Mrs Maxi's purse again ...

I don't think Sharp Hussler works for us Peter.  If it wins Jack will pass me.

I think our best chance is for Royal Witness to win for Moose and have Ozark finish ahead of Spurcraft for TC.   Not looking good.

Sorry John you are right

As we speak I'm signing the nmomination for Zac for the MTF  ' Hall of Fame' 👍

Probably a good idea Howie, while there is still that glow of glory:classic_smile:

Played your final this week I'm afraid, the JG have the momentum

Well played

Semi-Finals - Saturday June 20

Race 10 - Doomben R9

1st - 13 Jadentom W-$19.60

2nd - 5 Mishani Hustler Q-$86.10

Scr: 1,4,9,10,11,14,17

1 FIVE-OH (1st)

$550.20

4 THE JAMES GANG (4th)

$822.40

No one found the final winner and with Spurcraft beating Ozark to the line Blind Squirrel won the countback over TC so The James Gang run out 4-1 winners ! Unfortunately Five-Oh had one of their worst days with not a lot going right for them but take nothing away from a tenacious effort from The Gang for whom Hesi was Man of the Match with a score of just $230 while The Crucible was MVP for Five-Oh. Poisoned Chalice and all that....... Thanks to Five-OH crew for an entertaining and competitive comp. See you in a fortnight.

154.20 Moose

230.00 Hesi

128.00 Virgil

206.20 Pete

92.00 John

46.00 Jack

176.00 The Crucible

176.00 Blind Squirrel (on countback)

164.20 Steve P

2 MAXIMILLIONS (2nd)

$970.20

3 MUCH TOO FAST (3rd)

$1038.00
Zac proved the hero for Much Too Fast by labelling the Toowoomba terror - Jadentom - on his own with a BB to down Heather and win the match for his side ! Sensational ending to a very competitive match and hard luck to the Maxis. The win also landed Zac the Man of the Match crown with Rob pipping Heather for Maxis MVP honours. Despite leading for two races earlier in the day MTF had to chase the Maxis for most of the afternoon but managed to pull off the miracle via Zac in the last. Commiserations to the Maximillions and thanks for playing. See you all again in a fortnight.

48.00 Max

91.00 Craig

The semis were again a wonderful day's entertainment, as PJ Comps always are.
High drama and tension with both semis live into the last.
'Much Too Fast' trailing  1-4 with only two races to go, and seemingly gone for most people's money.
And then the game took a twist !
Craig's selection late-scratched in R9 and the 'sub' duly obliges, to claw Craig  into a personal lead and reduce the team deficit down to 2-3.
But still we needed a 'hero' ... one race to go .... last chance saloon. Chances resting on Ashoka the proven performer, or Zac the rising star.
Up stepped Zac .... and the rest is history ! 'Cometh the hour .... '

Commiserations to the 'Maximillions', who had it won everywhere but on the line. Sterling performers right through this competition with a string of top performances. It took an incredible amount of good luck for MTF late in proceedings to deny the Maximillions what would have been a deserved place in the Grand Final.

Hard luck also the 'Five-Oh' , the "winningest" team in the Comp, the Minor Premiers, and a team of champions. Regardless of the 'knockout' results today, the 'Five-Oh' the benchmark team in this competition.

Congratulations to 'The James Gang' ! I had an inkling you were going to make it through today, a team on the rise with a formidable roster starting to get luck going their way.
Looking forward to a great match in the Grand Final, where there is no doubt you will be absolutely the toughest of opponents.

Well done Craig, Zac and Rex for steering us 'MTF' through today. Top effort guys, and with the outstanding Ashoka all set to bounce back next Saturday, we're gonna be a force to be reckoned with for sure.Be very afraid, Pete and Hesi. 😃

Many thanks for a great day's entertainment today PJ ... your first-class scoring and commentary. Unparalleled. You're a champion. 👍

A few observations heading into the semis

Magnificent Seven 3 Maxis, 1 Five O, no JG or MTF's

Unfortunate Five Just Pete from the JG

Worst win/loss records, Pete and Hesi from the JG

Best win record, John from Five O

How on earth is it a JG/MTF final

Just watched a replay of the last Doomben Race. Andrew and Jadentom had the Race won on the home turn. She has been a  wonderful Mare.

It was a thrill to see we have made the Grand Final next weekend. I'm proud to be a Member of The Much Too Fast Team.

I still have  (3) Three Day's of Isolation to go. Then , i will head off to my much loved Grand Pa Wrinkle's for one  of his famous Angus BBQ Steak's :).

I was told an hour ago that (1) One of the Essendon AFL Player's has just tested positive to the Virus - 19. What Drama is this going to cause !
