PWJ
In the last: The Tigers can't win but Shalwa, Love You Lucy (guess who tipped that), Jen Rules, Irithea or Outback Barbie can prevent a 5-zip win for Covid-Y Hall of Fame could still win it with Winter Bride (Jamison, Stevie & Ian) but it needs to pay $9.30+ or Jen Rules complete the Q Much Too Fast can still win with Jen Rules (for Rex and Zac) but it needs to pay $10.40 or Irithea complete the Q. Winter Bride or Baccarat Baby can give the James Gang a 5-zip win. Maximillions vs Roland;s Roughnecks - hard to predict this one because of the tied match Jen vs Rob. Rob has Shalwa & Krone while Jen has River Racer & Ready To Prophet. Winter Bride, Baccarat Baby (if it stays favourite) or Irithea assures a Maxis win Shalwa assures a Roughnecks win #8 Paint The Town Too is a late scratching

Blind Squirrel
Talk about playing to the final whistle - as they fanned across the track I wasn't sure if I was cheering Winter Bride for the team and y trifecta or River Run with my sly $5er on its snout. As it turns out Lucy did the bizzo for the JG even when none of us picked it. Super battle Howie and your gallant team - may we meet again in the final! Pam was MVP for the winners, her score only bettered by opponent Max who was Man of the Match in a low scoring match. The 5-0 margin was worth two bonus points for Five-Oh. The James Gang needed a decent win to hold off their chasers and they duly obliged downing 3rd placed Much Too Fast. A loss without bonus points would have seen them collared by a determined Covid-Y outfit who defeated The Tigers 4-1 but needed to win 5-zip and take a team profit but couldn't quite manage it. Roland's Roughnecks ended their comp with a win to nail 7th leaving The Tigers in the cellar. So our Finalists have been found. Thanks to all those departing from the comp today but a reminder and an invitation to be back in a couple of weeks for the National Super Comp. Thanks to my Tigers team mates who played well but just had no luck with opposition sides using us as target practice although we did post the highest aggregate among those who missed the finals !

TooFast
Firstly, a big congratulations to 'Five-Oh' - John, TC, Moose, Virgil, Punter Pete - the most difficult team to overcome in the competition - the 'winningest' team in the comp - and deservedly picking up the Minor Premiership. Came from a fair way off the Maximillions points-wise to nab them in the shadows of the post . Well done, champs. Thank goodness we don't meet 'Five-Oh' in the semis next weekend.! Hats off also to the very impressive 'Maximillions'. Set a torrid pace through round-robin, and had it won everywhere but on the line. Some very skilful tipsters in their lineup, and we underdogs the 'Much Too Fast' are gonna have to find two or three lengths to go with them in the semi next Saturday. 'The James Gang' were a class above us MTF today, and showed real ticker to put in a top team performance when it counted most, when under serious threat for their 4th-spot berth in the Championship round. Special mention for Blind Squirrel who has played very well right through this comp and ran away from me today; plus Hesi a deserved win over one of the comp's most highly-rated selectors, Ashoka. Good luck for your match against the table-toppers next week - you are hitting top form at the right time, and I do believe you're in with a live chance next Saturday. A less than memorable performance from us 'Much Too Fast' today, with the highlight being our Craig saving our blushes with a very strong performance to win his individual matchup. We need to turn things around fast ...and we could very well do that. Points don't carry forward and we line up level with the 'Maximillions' next Saturday, and from there, anything can happen. We've given ourselves the opportunity ...now it's up to us to take it. Farewell, departing friends. See you soon, in PJ's next amazing super duper National comp. We MTF hope we will have the support of more than a few of you next Saturday, and in the Grand Final the following Saturday. Many thanks for this comp, PJ, and your sterling efforts scoring and commentating. Brilliant. Simply brilliant. And thanks for your updates today too, John. Always accurate and very informative. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks. Take it easy on those 'Canes tomorrow, Beaudy. They're in 'rebuilding' mode. Naagh ..just kiddin'...give 'em heaps, Beaudy.GO THE MIGHTY BLUES ! 🙂 5

Rayzor
Congrats finalists & thanks PJ for yet another top notch comp. 👍 COVID-Y, it's been a pleasure. We managed to beat every team in the comp but 2 dud joker calls proved costly in the end. Had we sneaked into the semis, I know we would have been hard to beat. Gary your 2nd round resurgence has been a joy to watch. 😎 Porky, our top dollar man, propped up our team scores on a regular basis. 🤑 Ziggy, finished strongly after being matched against some big hitters early on. 💪 And finally Rocky, our Mr Reliable who along with Porky, formed the spine of our team. 🤩 Thanks guys. COVID-Y has left the building.... cheers R
