Graeme who got off to a great start in the first took the Man of the Match title with Maurice edging Sharne for Tigers' MVP honours. Hall of Fame can take consolation from a team profit bonus point claimed in the last when Robert and Leroy bagged BBs with Ian also chipping in. Much Too Fast made excellent use of their Joker play and now find themselves just 5 points from the top and only 1 point behind Five-Oh. The day's big movers were Covid-Y who won a torrid encounter to leap up two places into a qualifying spot pushing down a place Hall of Fame and The James Gang who each lost but scored a bonus point apiece nevertheless. The Tigers scored a much needed win but remain 7 points from a qualifying spot and will need a very successful Joker play to get into the hunt while Roland's Roughnecks remain in the cellar after another loss.

TooFast
'Nerve and Verve' gave us some decidedly nervous moments, but ultimately a particularly successful today for us 'Much Too Fast' as we take our winning run to 4-straight. Well done to my "teamies" Craig, Rex, Zac and Ashoka, who are stepping up each week. We've got the top 2 teams coming up within the next 3 Saturdays, the Maxis and the Five-Ohs, so plenty more still to do and the challenges ahead of us couldn't be stronger. Hard luck today, Roland and the 'Roughies' ....the dice just didn't roll your way and if 'Nerve and Verve' had gotten up, and it so very nearly did so, it would have been a completely different match. As we all know, week in, week out, matches are being decided on very small margins. It doesn't pay to underestimate any opponent. Thanks very much for another enthralling Saturday afternoon's entertainment today, PJ. And well done on your Tigers' win. It was so very well deserved, after a rotten run of bad luck. As you said, against the Top Team, that is impressive. See you next Saturday, folks. Keep safe and well everyone.

TooFast
'Much Too Fast' task for the week :- simple ...........Minimise the Maxis ! 😊 The 'Tigers' have given us the blueprint ..... now we just step up and apply more of the same to an outfit with an impressive form background, but whose fortunes could now be on the wane. Going for 5-straight we 'Much Too Fast' will be happy to ride our luck for at least one more week. This Sunday we might be looking at a new leader on the leaderboard. Just saying ! .... he says ...... as he puts the stirring pot down 😄and applies the marmite to the freshly-cooked toast. Big match ahead next Saturday. pete
41 minutes ago, Say No More said: The statisticians have been back through the record books, and today is not a happy stat sort of day. The Roughneck's total of $150 (4 winners from 100 selections) appears to be a record for the lowest team tally in a 10 race card. Nothing earned in the second half of the card. I guess that's the nature of that approach - feast or famine! Roughnecks could also set another record, if they haven't already - most consecutive weeks having the Joker played against them. Their tally stands at 4 weeks at present and could reach 8 weeks by the end of this comp. Will any of the four captains yet to play the Roughies in round 2, break that streak? and one other unhappy stat that hasn't gone unnoticed by Hurricanes management is Hesi's 1/9 record! I was never a fan of Sir Alex Ferguson but he was a master at moving on good players when they had passed their peak. Ouch! I prefer to think of Hesi as a big match player. Qualifying rounds don't motivate him. Finals do. We've just got to get there now

Hesi
May pay to ease off the pedal now John, last thing you want to do is take out the minor premiership and be facing us in the playoffs, a team with a substantially higher aggregate. The JG probably cannot make the top 3, but definitely get into 4th, which is all we need, as we can beat any of the top 3 teams in a finals shootout. I think I'm about 14th on aggregate, so form not too bad
