To win:

Much Too Fast need-

Be My Star to win for Ashoka (must pay$10.20+ or Aten complete the Q)

Hall of Fame need-

a Mum's My Hero-Aten quinella in that order and hope it pays enough for Leroy

Five-Oh need-

a Bayou-Aten quinella for John and hope it pays enough

The James Gang can't win

Who's the one guy you'd turn to when you go into the last 1 down.

All looked lost.

And then along came that man, Ashoka ! 😌

Who else whould it be.

Very hard luck, Tigers .....you had fought back magnificently  , with top efforts from Maurice and Tom in particular. Tom, not many come back from having a $26 BB chalked up against them in the very first race. Inspirational run from you after that, Tom. Brilliant.

Our 'Much Too Fast' guys. Phew ! 🙂 3 in a row now, all of them fighting finishes. Not good for the blood pressure. But very enjoyable all the same. Well done on your individual wins, Rex, Craig & Ashoka. You're well-and-truly on a roll now, Craig. And great scoring, Zac, your form in the past 2 rounds in particular has been awesome. Big scores.

That was a very, very long way up the home straight for 'Be My Star", after bouncing to the front turning in.One more stride for Lakhani Rose and .......

Thank you, PJ, for another very enjoyable day's entertainment.

what do we have to do to get a win. Even miss out on team bonus I think

Pretty sure you got your Team Profit point, Maurice. And very well deserved too.

Looks like we got across the line on that one, too.

Thanks for the game Howie.  1 all

Far too good for me today, Moz. You're running a purple patch of form in this comp, as you have done in many PJ Super Comps. Your team though is very, very unlucky. Hope your team gets the rub-of-the green, soon. You deserve it.

Round 9 - Saturday May 9

Race 10 - Morphettville R9

1st - 5 Be My Star W-$14.00

2nd - 6 Lakhani Rose Q-$68.90

Scr: 8

4 MAXIMILLIONS (1st)

$1271.40

3 points

1 THE JAMES GANG (4th)

$984.60

0 points

Maximillions had it sewn up before the last where only James Gang MVP Pete found the Zoustar winner with a BB. He was unlucky to draw Man of the Match Rob, each of them putting up totals of better than $500. Maximillions took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin.

238.60 Heather

62.00 Steve P

265.60 Georgy Boy

223.00 Blind Squirrel

161.00 Max

89.20 Hesi

529.20 Rob

517.40 Pete

77.00 Graeme

83.00 Jack

2 FIVE-OH (2nd)

$757.60

0 points

3 COVID-Y (6th)

$1245.60

2 points

Only opponents Moose and Porky (who bagged a BB and took Man of the Match honours again) found the final winner as 4th was the best Bayou could manage with Aten not in it. Covid-Y did well to take down the high flying Five-Oh for whom Moose was MVP. No bonus points were earned.

101.20 John

205.00 Rocky

180.00 Virgil

140.00 Ray

159.20 Punter Pete

138.20 Ziggy

262.20 Moose

540.60 Porky

55.00 The Crucible

221.80 Gary

3 ROLAND'S ROUGHNECKS (8th)

$1273.00

2 points

2 HALL OF FAME* (3rd)

$698.60

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

Roland's Roughnecks held on to win despite not scoring in the final 4 races ! Hall of Fame's chance to steal it in the last, in which no one tipped the winner, never materialised so they come away empty-handed from their Joker Play. Gee was Man of the match for the winners while Ian, the only HOFer to break $200, was his side's MVP. No bonus points were earned.

583.00 Gee

99.00 Stevie N

260.00 Roland

144.20 Midnight C (Leroy)

143.00 Jen

145.40 Robert

287.00 Pam

101.40 Jamison

207.60 Ian

2 THE TIGERS (7th)

$1591.80

1 point

3 MUCH TOO FAST (5th)

$1770.40

3 points

The day's most competitive match where both sides took a bonus point for a team profit saw Much Too Fast snatch the win by a nose on the line as the Clarken winner got up to land BBs for Zac and Craig and more importanly for Ashoka to claw back Jill and win the match for Much Too Fast. I an sure all us Tigers are gutted but well done to MTF. Tom bagged a BB in the last to ensure Man of the Match honours with a massive total and 7 winners on a difficult day with Zac - the winners' MVP - unlucky to strike Tom in the draw.

73.00 PJ

414.20 Craig

873.60 Tom

694.40 Zac

144.20 Jill

183.00 Ashoka

198.40 Sharne

372.60 Rex

TABLE after ROUND 9

1st 29 Maximillions $11,599.00

2nd 23 Five-Oh $9544.80*

3rd 16 Much Too Fast $10,491.40

4th 15 Hall of Fame $9391.80*

------------finals qual mark--------------

5th 13 James Gang $10,447.20

6th 13 Covid-Y $9308.20

7th 8 The Tigers $9537.00

8th 8 Roland's Roughnecks $7892.00

* Joker play

Maximillions extended their lead at the top by 3 points today after their comfortable win and aided by Five-Oh going down to Covid-Y who remain 6th despite their victory. Much Too Fast were the big movers after getting home by a nose to steal it in the last and jump up two places to 3rd relegating Hall of Fame back a spot to 4th and The James Gang (also losers today) to 5th. The Tigers lost but held on to 7th - only by aggregate - from Roland's Roughnecks who won although both are only 7 points from a playoff spot.

Great effort Pete, but I reckon you have walked over somebody's grave, the one that that's called "Geez mate give us a fair go"

I don't think I can recall anyone in this comp having such an unfortunate run

Quite frankly unbelievable to lose when you pick 6 winners 3 quinellas and collect over 500 bucks.

Never mind well done to Rob and also to the team.

We're not done yet but could do with a bit of luck.
