ROUND 4 - Saturday August 31

On Wednesday it is a Good track at Caulfield but a heavy 10 and raining at Wanganui. If Wanagnui is abandoned before a comp race is run then we go to Wyong on Sunday to complete Round 3. If at least one comp race is run at Wanganui before abandonment then the comp round will conclude on Saturday.

We start the day at Wanganui with a restricted sprint with many chances followed by the open sprint also with plenty of form and a number of smart types resuming. Then it is the feature of the day - The Guineas - followed by a restricted mile where good prices may be found outside likely fave Pinkerton. We conclude the NZ leg with the open stayers contest where you could hardly rule out any of the runners.

Then it is on the plane to Melbourne for 5 black type events, some with smallish fields with the Cockram - comp race 8 - a real  head-scratcher as is the next, The Heatherlie. The crucial final dance is the WFA Memsie with some seriously major stars to battle out the first Gr1 race of the season for Victoria. Three matches saw trailing teams get up to win last week so who knows what will transpire on Saturday....

The big clash of the day sees the two top-scoring sides over the first 3 rounds - The table-topping Blues and The redoubtable Ferdies - meet head-on. Unbeaten Auks pair Moose and Rich take on Naki top guns Heather and Geoff respectively in two feature HTHs. Sure to be some bragging rights also in the Pete vs Hesi meeting.

I sniff a potential Joker play in the Turbos vs Chiefs clash with two of the Tainui crew win-less to date including Captain Jack who takes on another win-less warrior Our Maizcay - how have this usually reliable pair not managed a win? Sadly one of them will still be winless come Monday 😟. The serendipitous Porky faces off against a Magnificent in-form Zig in another feature HTH.

The Magpies are 3 points and 3 places to the better of their opponents The Swamp Foxes but it is the Swampies who have the better aggregate so far in the comp. Is there a hint of a Thames Valley Triple Joker play about this one ?? The top guns on each side - unbeaten Tassie Tiger and Captain Ian - meet in the feature HTH while win-less Punter Pete will be looking to get the monkey off his back up against the ever dependable Richie.

Finally, it is the Far North and The Deep South going at each other in the Kauri Kats vs Highlanders battle. Top Kat Graeme - a resident of the Magnificent Seven house - takes on the Unfortunate Howie who is conceding over $300 a round on average. A blood-bath or a big turnaround awaits in that one. The same could be said for the clash between another Magnificent Seven member Craig and the comps punching ball so far, the hapless but hardy Rex who has shipped over $1100 in just 3 rounds. Just about anything could happen in that one! Lastly MC is going for his 4th straight win, this time over the wily Anita !

Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent

Please post on time. Let's have some fun and note the closing time...

KAURI KATS (8th) vs HIGHLANDERS (5th)

Looks like the Stray Kats are up for the challenge this week?. This weeks best team Theme Anthem for them to strum along too,  is on the Craigs Music Fav's channel.

DOn't let JAMMO see it PJ mate , unless he's got ''Kat class and got Kat Style.'' 😹

Highlanders likely to put the Kats out in Alley 😂😹

my $2 loss to Gazza last week got the Turbo's an extra 7 points with joker play, also a win with Bonny Lass for Gaz too do the job. congrats to Gaz . great day out.

Need HESI to step up this week to get that Blues man opponent PETE distracted and off his game (as am trying to STEEL' a Win in a BIG 'Say No More' Pairs Semi on sat 😁🏇)  Maria tried hard last week ,but galloped over late by a PURE' staying performance  .   can't have Pete getting the daily double ? 😅

Let's go Highlanders !!! (and Hesi too 😎)
