PWJ
ROUND 3 - Saturday August 24 (A word to Captains. Probably a good idea to start a team PM thread if you have not already done so to remind everyone of closing times and to post ON TIME. You need to make your changes and corrections by 12.50pm. A reminder not to edit posts after posting. Corrections and scratching subs need to be in a new post) On Wednesday it is a Soft 6 and fine in Sydney but a Heavy 10 and Overcast at Te Rapa. Who knows what we will end up with ! We start the day with the big steeple at Te Rapa followed by the open stayers and then an interesting 2400m restricted hack. A R65 sprint is followed by the Foxbridge Plate with plenty of stars kicking off their Spring campaigns so a bit of a puzzle that one. The it is on the plane to Sydney where we tackle 5 sprints - 4 of them Group races - including the big names resuming in the Group One Winx Stakes. The all-important last race looks a tricky little affair - tread carefully ! The big clash of the day is sure to be the Battle of Maramarua where two unbeaten sides - the Auckland Blues and the Thames Valley Swamp Foxes - meet head-on. Plenty of juicy HTHs here but the one sure to generate some trash talk is the Moose v Jammo showdown with both beasts 2-for-2 thus far. The Magpies have 4 points on the Chiefs before they meet in Round 3 but The Waikato lads (at home for this) have a better aggregate and will fancy their chances of rolling the Bay Boys. Expecting some cunning tactics in this one where Magnificent Seven King Gee is taken on by unbeaten Bay star - Mr Serendipitous - Richie. Something has gotta give ! Less than $40 separates the aggregates of The Taranaki Ferdies and the Northland Kauri Kats so this looks a close tussle. Anita and Heather - the respective Boadiceas for each side - take on win-less pair Maurice and Rex respectively, so will we see a couple of blood-baths or can Moz and Sir G find their mojo ? The under-performing Turbos and the mid-table Highlanders meet in the other clash and I think we all might have expected more from one or both of these two franchises after two rounds. Just $12 separates their aggregates so I am expecting a close tussle. The Ray v Rob fight looks a cracker... Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent Please post on time. Let's have some fun and note the closing time... I will try to be a bit more or prompt in the future, so as to not hold your collation of selection up until the last moment. 1

Have the perfect team anthem theme for Ray,Gaz, BS, OM and Zig to sing along too then in preparation for Saturday .😁 Even has some great whip action sounds all through the song that is probably the Manawatu Xanadu lads driving their horses hard, trying to beat the Highlanders and get on the score sheet,.😉🏇⚡ I'll pop it on the CaptainHighlander Craigs Music favourites to enjoy . 1

I'm sensing back-to-back successes here for the Highlanders, to keep us right in touch with the pace. Good luck to my opponent Zig . . . we've been matched-up many times over the years and I think the honours are about even. I'll be out-of-touch now for a few days, and so Captain Craig please can you replace any scratchings for me. Thanks. And thanks too, PJ, for another fine PJ Comp.
