Another big earthquake here and the power has gone off again. So no results until it comes back on. No changes after comp race 9 to team scores. Just had another quake as I write this

Where are ya P.J ? ... U.O.K

The Mrs. doesn't miss a trick on her cellphone...can't find Quake anywhere in NZ !

Shes a shocker.

Bad luck Highlanders, it come down to a couple of dollars in the end. Good luck for the rest of the comp. 👍

Zig, what a score! Cometh the hour , cometh the man. 💪  BS, how unlucky to draw Craig?  - $300+ and you lose, $73 and I win. Doesn't seem fair mate.

Hopefully this is where our season turns. Well done team!

ROUND 3 - Saturday August 24

Comp Race 10 - Randwick R10

1st - 10 World Alliance W-$6.60

2nd - 8 Pokerjack Q-$132.20

Scr: 5,11

1 SWAMP FOXES (4th)

$986.20

0 points

4 BLUES (1st)

$1321.20

4 points

Late drama as all the Blues bar Rich bag BBs in the last while only Robert (BB), Jammo & Black Caviar reply for The Swamp Foxes. Roland rolls Punter Pete while Pete pounces on Black Caviar for an unlikely win for The Blues adding bonus points for a team profit (achieved in the last) and a 4-1 margin. Pete was Man of the Match with 6 winners while opponent Black Caviar nosed out Tassie Tiger for MVP for The Swampies.

271.20 Black Caviar

327.20 Pete

271 Tassie Tiger

253 Gordy

101 Punter Pete

221 Roland

213 Robert

262 Rich

258 Moose

3 CHIEFS (7th)

$632.20

2 points

2 MAGPIES (2nd)

$867.00

1 point

The Chiefs who had looked somewhat languid all day especially at Te Rapa (??) came good late on with Steve P bagging a BB to get up and nail Stevie N in the last to score an unlikely win for the Waikato Boys for whom Gee also scored. Man of the Match Ian and Jason made the final collects for The Magpies who were 5-zip clear at the halfway mark before crumbling at Randwick. Steve P edged Gee for MVP honours for The Chiefs. Magpies consoled by a bonus point for a higher aggregate.

88 Porky

46 Secret Squirrel

222 Gee

91 Richie

35 Jack

279 Jason

63 Tom

322 Ian

224.20 Steve P

129 Stevie N

3 FERDIES (3rd)

$1864.40

2 KAURI KATS (6th)

$1461.00

1 point

More late drama as Maurice snags the last quinella to annex Anita and win it for The Ferdies for whom Hesi (BB) and Geoff also found the Collett winner. Only Kauri Kats MVP Graeme replied. Despite the late burst from Moz, Geoff was Man of the Match with 7 winners. Both sides took a bonus point for a team profit in the most competitive fixture in the Round.

347 Hesi

453 Graeme

451.40 Maurice

199 Anita

480.40 Geoff

272 Sharne

238.60 PJ

188 Dee

347 Heather

349 Rex

3 TURBOS*** (8th)

$1384.60

3 points (x 3 Triple Joker play) equals 9 points

2 HIGHLANDERS (5th)

$1365.20

1 point

In the last the Rubick winner tipped by Ziggy (with a BB) and Our Maizcay for The Turbos while Lightning Blue (with a BB also) and Craig for the Highlanders. The Turbos held on for a successful Triple Joker play and like the Otago boys secured a team profit bonus point in the last. Ziggy had a terrific day tipping 8 winners and just edging another top effort from Craig - MVP for The Highlanders. Great match !

73 Ray

31.20 Rob

228.20 Gary

226 Lightning Blue

335 Blind Squirrel

562 Craig

177 Our Maizcay

TABLE AFTER ROUND 3

The Blues held on to their lead after being behind going into the last and being 4-1 down at one stage. The Turbos are the first team to play the Triple Joker and used it to good effect climbing from the cellar to 2nd to trail the leaders by one point. The Magpies, seemingly well in control all day, got taken down in the last - a defeat which saw them only lose one place on the table however. The Ferdies staged a last-gasp late win (over The Kats) but still slipped a spot although they are the top scorers on aggregate so far. Despite losing the Highlanders remain 5th, in large part due to a late achieved team profit bonus point. The Swamp Foxes late loss saw them slump two places while The Chiefs remain 7th after an unlikely late win. The Kauri Kats - also caught by the Animal Rangers in the last - also lost two spots and find themselves surprisingly in the cellar despite a great day for the Little family.

1st 10 points Blues $3646.60

2nd 9 points Turbos^ $3181.20

3rd 7 points Magpies* $2654.20

4th 7 points Ferdies $3896.00

5th 4 points Highlanders $3149.80

6th 4 points Swamp Foxes $2836.80

7th 4 point Chiefs $2554.80

8th 3 points Kauri Kats $3533.20

Stats and draw somewhat later. A little drained and stressed here. Need a break

Don't worry PJ, you won't be getting the 'big' one, where the eastern seaboard breaks off into the Tasman Sea and they get to make a movie about it.

Australia does not sit on any major fault lines like we have in NZ
