TABLE AFTER ROUND 9

Former leaders The Blues suffered a narrow defeat (on points anyway if not aggregate) at the hands of their closest rivals The Chiefs, who take over at the top of the table on the back of a successful Triple Joker play. The Kauri Kats lost but retain 3rd spot while the Turbos were trounced but hold 4th although the 4 teams below them are all less than 5 points away.

The Swamp Foxes victory over The Kats saw them make up a place to 5th while The Magpies successful Regular Joker play lifted them off the bottom climbing two spots to 6th. Their victims - The Highlanders - gave up the same two places in defeat, dropping to 7th while in what may well be a comp first, The Ferdies enjoyed a comprehensive 5-zip win and dropped a spot to last (!!) although their deficit from a finals spot has dropped from 9 points to 4 points. Four sides yet to play a second Round Joker with 5 rounds remaining.

A special thanks to those scorers from yesterday and to everyone for their always sporting-like behaviour in these comps. Anita and I ad a good day at Randwick. Made some dough, got to see a PJ mating - Lady Shenandoah - win a Gr1 and the colt out of my daughters mare was a narrow runner-up in the Gr3 Breeders Plate on debut. Was fun following the comp on our phones, also.

Are we running a book on who will post first ??

I'm feeling particularly light of hoof this week  . . . so Robert will really have to go some to keep me out in the hustle-and-bustle for early positions ! 😉
I'm aiming straight for the front from barrier-rise !

Geez Howie. "Light of hoof". Not sure I've ever heard that expression before. Does it mean you're floating above the rest of us?

Hi Howard,

No need to rush, as I am traveling down to Christchurch on Wednesday, to see our horse run the Harness Millions on Friday Night.

I might be lucky to get any selections in at all for Saturday, so it might be a walk over.

Cheers.

Robert.

How do you win 5-0 with the maximum 5 pointer and drop to last ?
Something ain’t right, just can’t put my finger on it… yet.

The Maggies (that were running at the back of the field) are still laughing (in photo)  At their good fortune of a 'Joker 8 point Haul 'as they swooped on the 'Hapless Highlanders' yesterday. your mate Howie tried hard to hold the Magpies out on his own , while the rest of his Highlander team got in a flapping and a slapping.

But the Magpies were too tough,  and so marched past your FERDIES team and our HIGHLANDER team  on the leader board this week with a solid 8 points score.

You'll have to keep young Hesi primed and fit and ready for repelling the coming Magpie attack next weekend yourselves. 😁.  get the helmets out mate. 😄
