To win:

Turbos need-

Antino to win it for Blind Squirrel

Highlanders need-

Mr Brightside or Antino to win for Craig

OR

Pinstriped to win for Howie (must pay LESS than $14.60)

Swamp Foxes v Magpies

Very hard to predict due to the tied match where Robert has Mr Brightside (BB) vs Stevie N with Antino (BB)

Cannot see a permutation where the Swampies can win but maybe someone else can ??

Blues cannot win

The Ferdies had it won before the last where everyone missed ! Gordy was MVP for The Blues and unlucky to draw Man of the Match PJ. The Ferdies took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin. Thanks Blues and especially Gordy for putting up a spirited fight.

2 TURBOS* (2nd)

Antino - the Turbos big hope - missed the start and finished on late but was never going to overhaul the winner, so the Chiefs held on for a much-needed win. Man of the Match Steve P (6 winners) and Gee made the final collects for The victors while Ziggy (Manawatu MVP) and Ray snagged quinellas in the last for The Turbos who got no return from their Joker play.

2 MAGPIES (3rd)

$1195.40

Dramatic finish with Robert beating Stevie N on count-back with Mr Brightside (2nd) ahead of Antino (4th) but it was Punter Pete who was the hero grabbing a beaut BB on the Ben Allen winner to roll Richie and win it for The Swamp Foxes giving them a successful Triple Joker play. The Magpies, for whom Secret Squirrel was Man of the Match despite only tipping 2 winners, took a bonus point for a $33.80 better aggregate ! The late flourish from Punter Pete earned him MVP honours for The Swampies.

359 Punter Pete

283 Richie

337.20 Robert (on countback)

337.20 Stevie N

$1360.40

2 points (x 2 Joker play) equals 4 points

3 HIGHLANDERS (5th)

$1209.80

2 points

Exciting finish saw Howie find the Street Boss winner to gallop past Graeme to win his HTH and the match for the Highlanders after a great battle all day between the teams. However all was not lost for The Kauri Kats with Anita also finding the final winner to ensure a better aggregate for The Kats AND a team profit which with the Joker play enabled them to double their points haul. Lightning Blue with 6 winners was MVP for the victors while Captain Sharne with 7 winners was an impressive Match Star.

Thaks for the match Pete and the Blues Brothers.  Anything but an awe-inspiring performance from both teams, but a win is a win.  You don't expect it scoring only 880 points.

Thanks again PJ for all your work in running these comps, always appreciated

a Hesi match !! fantastico.

The Hesi-miester flopping against the 'Pete' challenge today. don't worry Hesi mate. I got him for you up the road so he didn't run off with a double or anything.😋

Highlanders 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 will be looking for the lead shortly  ,when some jokers come into play, and great to see the (1st) posted up there already for it thanks PJ 🏆😎

I see you have settled nicely into and enjoying your new team.

All the teams are great . all travelling like fine tuned racing cars. Magnificent power and racing capacity. very even too.

Except this will be the photo taken from the HIGHLANDERS rear view mirror as we come down to the finish line later on when we 'rev-up' a little bit more. (starting next Saturday)  😂

Thanks PJ, great work as usual especially having to sort out the late scr of Skybird.

Despite the narrow loss, what a great effort team, brilliant from team captain Sharne, very unlucky Anita missing by just five dollars but driving us over the profit line and with more dollars than our ops, very wellthought out Joker play Sharne,

Thanks for a great match Craig, we certainly see-sawed our way through the match 😊
