Hesi Posted August 5 Share Posted August 5 TURBOS: Gary (Gazzac), Ziggy (Zig), Our Maizcay, Blind Squirrel, Ray* (Rayzor) $5 - This team is unchanged from the last NPC, and even though comfortably beaten in the final by the Ferdies, will be out for revenge with old buddies Ray and Zig a formidable pair. OM has been in top form in the Lucky 7, last draft comp and last NPC comp. Joined by astute selector Gary and the not so blind Squirrel FERDIES: Heather (Pegs Pride, Empress of Lepperton), Hesi*, Geoff (JustPlodded), Maurice (Moz), PJ $6 - As current titleholders they have a proven record of winning. Maurice was in superb form in the Lucky 7, Heather was 2nd on aggregate in the last NPC comp and i happen to know she lives just up the road from 7's flyer Michaela Blyde, so will be off the mark quickly after all the insider training. Geoff is Geoff and will just deliver, PJ is a proud Taranaki man so no motivation needed. Skip looks a bit dodgy with in and out form HIGHLANDERS: Midnight Caller, Craig* (Craigos), Rob (Godzstar1), Howie (Howard Atkinson), Lightning Blue $6 - Tonka is out but a rehomed jolly jumbuk in LB is ready to hit form. This team contains the top guns in the magnificent 7 stakes in the last 2 team comps in Howie and MC, so that's like having mainbrace and Gloaming in the same stable. Add in capable captain Craig and the never to be underestimated Robber and we have a team that could easily win this comp BLUES: Roland, Gordy, Moose, Pete*, Rich (LookingForValue) $8 - Are they going to reproduce the form of rugby counterparts. Auckland blues brothers Howie and Geoff missing but ably captained by Pete who has been on fire of late in the Punting threads. Gordy had a good Lucky 7, Roland, will the outsiders arrive in this comp, maniac Moose , but don't let the rhetoric mislead you, a very loud and astute selector. Then welcome to a longtime member of this forum, in fact our first member to join, Rich, who has finally got his act together with his selections on the punting threads MAGPIES: Richie*, Stevie Nicks, Secret Squirrel, Jason, Ian (VC!) $8 - The old triumvirate of Ian, Stevie N and Secret Squirrel are back, are they joined at the hip, with Ian back to top form, a formidable trio if they can get away with the rest of the field. Perennial Richie who has been in form in the Lucky 7 and Jason comes in to replace ace selector Antz SWAMP FOXES: Jamison, Black Caviar*, Punter Pete, Robert (Double R), Tassie Tiger $10 - Hard to assess this team with addition of Tassie and Robert to bolster up the well established credentials of BC and Punter Pete. And of course we all know about the errant cat, who seems intent on getting one up on his master CHIEFS: Gee (Zabeel), Jack (Taniwha99), Steve P, Porky, Tom (Turny) $15 - This team will either sink or swim, probably swim with the addition of in form Porky and ace selector Tom. Steve Paul can always be relied upon to give any opponent a tough match.
