Smaller fields again in NZ this week which hopefully should see more completing the course but of course there is the jeopardy of the no third dividend contests (first two races at least) to worry about....

Our annual visit to Caloundra throws up some interesting races with some looking wide open. Tread carefully !

Also please post for substitute races at Hastings in case Te Rapa is abandoned at any stage. No subs to be posted after closing time of 12.15pm. If Te Rapa is abandoned before the first comp race then closing time will be extended to 1.19pm.

5. Sunshine Coast R6 - 5.23pm - Double R Group Winx Guineas (Gr3) - $300k, 1600m, 3yos SWs

6. Sunshine Coast R7 - 6.02pm - TAB Glasshouse Hdcp (LR) - $300k, 1400m, qlty hdcp

7. Sunshine Coast R8 - 6.45pm - Wishlist Caloundra Cup (LR) - $300k, 2400m,qlty hdcp

 

1a. Hastings R4 - 1.34pm - Valley dVine Restaurant Hdcp - $40k, 1400m, open hdcp

2a. Hastings R6 - 2.45pm - Beard Brothers Hdcp - $40k, 2200m, R89 hdcp

3a. Hastings R8 - 3.55pm - Happy Hire Hdcp - $35k, 2100m, R65 BM

Could be a tough day on drying wet tracks - still buzzing from my boy Bee Enchanted winning today - impressive win a full second faster than the R75 1200 that followed. Roll on Aug 9 for the $100k race.

Off early tomorrow to take grandson to football then racing up to Hastings to support Prioress. Shame a few showers havent arived but she will be hard to beat anyway on her work.
